Better Health Ltd is a general practice business development company.
We work with doctors to turn their medical practices into more valuable, sustainable businesses whilst retaining what we recognize as the heart and soul of general practice. We enable effective entry into and exit from general practice by purchasing shareholdings, recruiting new doctors and helping with some of the administration.
What we do
Better Health invests in general practices by turning the practice into a new company and purchasing shares. Remaining partners become shareholders and work with Better Health as equal partners in the business. We use our network and expertise to maintain and grow your business.

Graham has over 25 years business and clinical experience within his own general practice (Barrington Medical Centre, 12,500 patients). Graham is a past director of Pegasus Health Ltd in Christchurch and has consulting and business development experience at the interface between secondary and primary care with the Canterbury Initiative. He works as a consultant at the Hyperbaric Medicine Unit at Christchurch Hospital and is Clinical Advisor to Planning & Funding, Canterbury District Health Board.
Baden Ewart, MPP, MBA, FNZIM, M Inst D
Baden has more than 15 years’ experience within the NZ health sector working in both secondary and primary care settings as a manager – Baden is a past General Manager of Pegasus Health Ltd in Christchurch and Interim General Manager of South Link Health Inc. He is a part-owner of the Merivale Medical Centre (5,600 patients) and has business consulting interests in the health sector as a Director of Mitchell Notley and Associates and on his own account.
David Jones, MBA
David has spent over 20 years in health care management in the UK, Middle East and NZ and his experience includes both secondary and primary care and health insurance. David is a past manager at Pegasus Health in Christchurch and health business consultant. He is the General Manager of Moorhouse Medical Centre (12,000 patients) and a member of the Christchurch PHO Board.
